8月5日晚，电影《速度与激情：特别行动》在北京举行新闻发布会，道恩·强森，杰森·斯坦森，及导演大卫·雷奇、编剧克里斯·摩根、制片人海拉姆·加西亚现身，分享了幕后拍摄趣事。《速度与激情：特别行动》将于8月23日在中国内地正式上映。
“速激”系列在全球创下近50亿美元票房。发布会现场，斯坦森和强森表示，作为“速激”宇宙的拓展之作，《速度与激情：特别行动》的动作场面将会全面升级。
强森称虽然自己与斯坦森的动作背景截然不同，但搭配起来非常好看；斯坦森则坦言为了带给观众最真实的感受，影片中许多拳拳到肉的打斗均是实拍。而谈及影片最重要的元素“车”时，二人直言“影片用最酷的车打造了最具张力的场面。”
对于为何制作一部以霍布斯与肖为主角的电影，强森笑称“虽然我们互相‘讨厌’，但霍布斯和肖的化学反应太强烈了，我们喜欢这个创意。”强森还爆料称自己拍摄时最有成就感的事就是把一向严肃的斯坦森逗笑，这成为了他“邪恶的快感”；斯坦森也吐槽“大胃王”强森“一天24小时都在饿，每次都会拿走我的早餐。”
在《速度与激情》系列的宇宙中推开一扇全新的大门，《速度与激情：特别行动》从洛杉矶到伦敦，从切尔诺贝利的有毒废墟到美丽的南太平洋岛国萨摩亚，本次特别行动席卷全球。
