the Fox and the grapes狐狸和葡萄。

a hungry Fox saw some fine bunches of grapes, hanging from a vine that was trained along ahigh trellis一只饥饿的狐狸。

and did his best to reach them by jumping as high as he could into the air,did his best to尽最大的努力,尽力往上跳去够到他们。

but it was all in vain, for they were just out of reach in vain徒劳,这一切都是徒劳。

for因为根本够不到,out of reach够不到。

so he gave up and worked away with an air of dignity and unconcern, remarking。

ithought those grapes were ripe, butisee now they are quite sour, thought是think的过去式。
