A unit of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund plans to build the world’s first “Dragon Ball” theme park near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the latest move underscoring the kingdom’s ambitions to diversify beyond oil. Toei Animation, which produces “Dragon Ball” and other popular animation series and licenses their use, said Friday that Qiddiya Investment, a unit of PIF, plans to construct the theme park as part of the entertainment project in Qiddiya, southwest of Riyadh. The theme park will be 500,000 square meters in size and will recreate various iconic locales from the original series, the studio said.
