U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted on Thusday that he wants the U.S. to have 5G as soon as possible and become a technology leader through competition rather than by blocking others.

而就在特朗普发推特的几个小时前，哥伦比亚广播公司(CBS)刚刚发布了对中国电信公司华为(Huawei)首席执行官任正非的采访。任正非表示，他的公司已经在推出5G技术的过程中，并将“很快”推出6G技术，并对特朗普政府在世界范围内“推广”华为表示了感谢。
In his latest interview with CBS on Thursday, Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei said that thanks to the Trump administration's "promotion," Huawei is getting more contracts.
"5G was not known by common people. But now, these great figures are all talking about 5G… And we're becoming more influential and getting more contracts," Ren told CBS.

对于美国政府口中的华为5G威胁论，西方各国表达了一些不同的意见：
Huawei, a front runner of 5G technologies, has been accused by the U.S. of posing security risks with its high-speed Internet infrastructure. And Washington has also been trying for months to persuade its allies to ban Huawei products.
本周二新西兰总理亮相当地脱口秀，直接表示新西兰从未排斥华为在该国的5G建设。
However, on Tuesday, New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that Huawei has never been excluded from the construction of New Zealand's 5G network on "The AM Show," a local talk show.
根据华尔街时报报道，德国政府也并不想要禁止华为5G，因为在此前的审查中并未发现痕迹可以证明华为有违规的行为。
On the same day, the Wall Street Journal reported that the German government is also leaning toward letting Huawei in, as a recent probe by the country's cybersecurity agency, with help from the U.S. and other allies, failed to discover any indication of wrongdoing by Huawei.
早前英国国家网络安全中心也对华为5G产品进行了检查，没有发现任何威胁。
Earlier, Britain's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the country's intelligence agency, concluded that it can mitigate the alleged risks from using Huawei products in 5G networks, indicating it's not in a position to ban the company, according to a report by the Financial Times.
