《复仇者联盟4：终局之战》很可能会让美国队长、雷神索尔、钢铁侠、黑寡妇、鹰眼和绿巨人的故事完结，漫威工作室已经在计划他们的下一英雄电影系列。
基于杰克·科比鲜为人知的、长战线创作的作品改编的《永恒族》将于今年夏天开拍，据报道，该片将以首次公开的同性恋超级英雄为主角。

根据That Hashtag Show的报道，漫威工作室正在寻找“一个30-49岁之间的演员，‘外型看起来像一个超级英雄’，来演其中一个主角。
虽然工作室面向全种族的演员开放，但他们更希望是公开出柜的演员来演这个角色。”
目前还不清楚工作室是打算为这个演员写一个同性恋角色，或者他们只是想让演员阵容更具包容性。
Marvel工作室曾因在这一领域缺乏代表性而受到指责，观众甚至指控他们在视频处理时删去了大家心爱角色关于LGBTQ的部分。
Okoye在漫画《瓦坎达》中是一个同性恋，但是在《黑豹》中，电影版本中由达娜·贾克赛·古瑞拉扮演的此角的嫁给了丹尼尔·卡卢亚扮演的维卡必 。
类似的，《雷神：诸神黄昏》里面有一段关键的闪回会暗示出瓦尔基里的双性恋倾向，这也在最后被剪掉了。

The Eternals, based on the lesser-known, long-running Jack Kirby property, is due to start filming this summer—and will reportedly feature the first openly gay superhero in the MCU.
According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios are looking for “an actor, 30-49, who ‘physically looks like a superhero’ for one of the film’s leads.
While the studio is open to actors of all ethnicity, they would prefer the role go to an openly gay actor.’”
It remains unclear whether the studio intends to write a gay character for this actor, or whether they are simply seeking to be more inclusive in the casting process.
Marvel Studios have been criticized for a lack of representation in this area before, and have even been accused of LGBTQ erasure in their screen treatment of beloved characters.
Okoye was written as queer in the World of Wakanda comics but in Black Panther, the movie version of the character played by Danai Garira was married to Daniel Kaluuya’s W’Kabi.
Similarly, the final cut of Thor: Ragnarok omitted a key flashback scene which would have alluded to the bisexuality of Valkyrie.
